Warrior

You stand alone, in silence,
The death notice is read,
Firm resolution grips your chin,

Only you had the courage to stand firm—

A fortress against the enemy’s onslaught.

You are the warrior,
Willing to pay the ultimate price,
For justice,
Liberty,
Love.

Yet, you are despised.

Only you understand the ultimate price of peace,
Purchase with blood,
A sacrifice of life,
Running down a tree—

Into the dust, you once created.

There is no weakness as you are sentenced,
Simply power under control,
A silent resolution,
To bridge the gap between life and death.

Regardless of the price—

Innocent blood.
