Sunlight

Beautiful rays fall
Scattering darkness and fear
I bask in Spring light.

Winter’s gray implodes
Flowers quickly spring to life
I breathe their sweetness.

The carnival ride
Standing in empty decay
Spins in the sunlight.

My childhood laughter
Echoing in my psyche
Warms my aging heart.

The wisdom of youth
Recreates the joy of life
As I smile with glee!
