David

Mighty, David,
Archetype of a King,
Michelangelo’s perfection,
Musician, poet, warrior, philosopher.

Son of Adam.

Heart blackened,
Sin’s cowardice grips your soul,
Murder fills your heart,
Righteousness dies in the midst of battle.

Yet, a man after the heart of God!

I wonder what Uriah felt,
As forgiven, you walked into the halls of eternity,
The King he had loved in righteousness,
Sent him to an early grave.

Does he stand in awe, that the unforgivable has been forgiven?

Because of a greater King,
One like David,
Destined for David’s throne,
Without blackened heart.

Son of Adam, but also of God!

Mighty David,
Archetype of a King,
Pointing the way,
Michelangelo’s perfection.

Not in body, nor in heart, but in pursuit of One Greater.

Son of David,
King of King’s,
Pointing the way,
Michelangelo’s perfection.
