Bittersweet…

Aging, as energy dims,
Gathering wisdom,
Knowing each generation,
Must make its own mistakes.

Praying,
Youth won’t dismiss history,
Repeating ancestral mistakes,
Instead of claiming battle-scarred truth.

Watching, knowledge explode,
As the world cries, with anger, fear,
Insanity, trembling,
At its inability to find peace.

Hoping,
This generation will build a better world,
From foundations of despair,
A brighter day remains.
